Leadership Opportunities
The SALT Center offers a variety of opportunities that allow students to experience and learn new leadership skills. These leadership opportunities encourage students to participate in many activities and reach out into the community throughout the academic year. All SALT students are eligible to participate in these programs.
MENTOR Program
Meaningful Experiences Navigating Transitional Opportunity and Responsibilities, the MENTOR Program provides opportunities for fun while connecting with other students through a variety of individual and group activities for incoming and continuing students. With planned monthly activities each semester, student mentors assist students with transition issues to the University. It's a wonderful way to meet new people and develop friendships. All students can participate in the MENTOR Program activities.
SALT High School Connection
The "SALT High School Connection" is a community outreach program comprised of SALT staff and students who go out into local high schools to offer academic support to students with learning differences. Current SALT students act as mentors, tutors, and role models to encourage academic success.
VAULT
Volunteer Activities Utilizing Learner's Talents, VAULT is a student volunteer program the provides opportunities for students to volunteer and participate in different community events throughout each semester. SALT affiliates with various organizations in order to assist members of the community. Students are welcome to participate in all activities, or they may choose specific events.
Ambassador Program
The SALT Ambassador Program is a resource for prospective and incoming students. This program consists of a diverse group of current SALT students who, as ambassadors, answer questions and relate their own experiences as an incoming freshmen to the University of Arizona and the SALT Center. Students can participate in this program for at least one year.
