Programs & Activities

SALT Outdoors

SALT Outdoors

SALT Outdoors provides students an opportunity to experience the outdoors with fellow SALT students and seasoned outdoor leaders. Hiking and other outdoor activities help students relieve stress, breathe a little fresh air, learn about the Southwest, and feel more "at home" in Tucson. SALT Outdoors is open to all students, regardless of experience level. Multiple outings will be planned each semester with input from participants.

Intramural Sports

The SALT Center fields intramural sports teams through the University of Arizona Recreation Center's Intramural program. The teams offer a fun way for students, tutors, and the SALT staff to work together outside of the academic environment. So far, the SALT "Shakers" have fielded softball, flag football, volleyball, and soccer teams. The leagues usually last four weeks, then jump right into a single elimination playoff tournament.

Internship Referral Program

The Internship Referral Program is an online resource to aid students in choosing their major and career paths. This service provides a list of many internships, including those that support students with learning challenges. For more information on this program, please  download the Internship Referral Program brochure.

Next Steps

During each semester, we invite all of our junior and senior students to a program that provides information on preparing for life after college graduation. The topics include steps to apply for Graduate School, how to write a resume, prepare for an interview, begin a job search, and disability disclosure. Please check our calendar for dates and times.
