Hi, I'm Dorothy Briggs. My role at SALT is to oversee the Learning Support Services. The tutoring team is here to offer academic support to the participants of SALT. We offer a variety of methods for students to get support. Students may drop-in to the Math Lab, the Writer’s Lab, or schedule individual appointments with any of our tutors. It is our aim to assist students along their path to success.

I grew up in Tucson, graduating from Cholla High School. I am an alumnus of UA. I spent 19 years living and teaching on the Navajo Reservation in the small community of Kayenta. It was a wonderfully enriching experience. Living among the Dine proved to be very rewarding. I still miss the red sandstone monoliths that make the region one of the most unique and picturesque spots in the world.

In 1999 we moved to Flagstaff. At Northern Arizona University I supervised the multifaceted learning assistance programs. I learned how much I enjoy working with young adults. I enjoyed living in the mountains and near the Grand Canyon. Seeing the condors soar over the Grand Canyon is truly a breathtaking experience.

My husband and I have two grown children, a daughter and a son, who have been the joys of our lives. Stop by my office to see their photos.

I joined the SALT staff in 2007. It is wonderful to work with the staff, tutors and students and see SALT students engage in the program and succeed in their goal of academic success. If you have tutoring questions or concerns feel free to contact me.
