Hello, I am very excited to be a part of the SALT Center and super excited about being able to work with students on a daily basis. I worked previously as a Retention Specialist in the Chicano/Hispano Student Affairs Office at the University of Arizona. I had the opportunity to teach two Success Courses LRC 197a and MAS 297b. It was a great opportunity that I will always hold dear.

I began my undergraduate degree in Southern California at California State University Dominguez Hills but I did not complete my studies because I embarked on the experience of my life as a US Military Serviceman. I had the awesome opportunity to travel the world and got to see countries like South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree in Bilingual/Multicultural Education that I earned at Northern Arizona University. I have worked most of my life as a teacher although I have also worked as a Migrant Counselor and Reading Specialist. My educational interests lie in the area of language acquisition and planning.

Personally, I have a wife who is originally from Tucson and a Wildcat Alumni. We currently have three children under the age of two. My daughter Maggie is our eldest and Jonah and Felicity are twins that just came into our life. I like to spend my evenings listening to the radio while my daughter plays with the radio and air conditioning controls. I love to organize my music on the computer, read educational material and research the latest studies on education.

I’m looking forward to meeting new students and finding out all about your goals and plans.
