Hello, my name is Rose Wilhite and I am one of the Learning Specialists in the SALT Center. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Learning Disabilities from Madonna College in Michigan with a minor in Elementary Education. This past year in the SALT Center, I coordinated the referral process for the Northern Arizona University counselors-in-training to provide in-house personal counseling to our students and provided training to the NAU staff. I also coordinate a student volunteer program, VAULT (Volunteer Activities Utilizing Learners Talents). During the academic year we participated in three events: American Diabetes Association Walk, Annual Asthma Walk, and the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. We helped with the coordination and fundraising of these events. I coordinated and presented at the Next Steps Junior/Senior workshops offered to our students once each semester. I also helped "pilot" the SALT/High School Connection Program this past year. Personally, I am quite busy as the mother of three boys who are involved in several "extreme" sports. Some of my favorite times are watching my boys play ice and roller hockey and lacrosse. I am from the state of Michigan and enjoy going back there to visit family and friends as often as possible.
